Since 2001, I have been teaching at ARCA Residential Colleges across the country. Now in 2007, I have decided with regret, that, due to ongoing health problems, I can not offer these courses for the forseeable future. I know that Knuston Hall, near Wellingborough, Northants, and Missenden Abbey, Bucks, are both committed to providing high quality art courses, including courses using coloured pencil, with other tutors. The other way that you can come on one of my courses is to book me yourself. I am perfectly willing to come out to any Art Group in the Midlands area - which means around 100 miles from Nottingham. I can offer a two hour talk/Demo on coloured pencils, during which I talk about the materials and tools needed, show lots of examples, and demonstrate a small piece with Coloursoft pencils. I also show what can be done with watersoluble pencils, and bring along lots of books and things to look at. My current fee for this is £80 plus 20p per mile travel. I also offer four different full six hour Workshops on coloured pencils - FOR WHICH I SUPPLY ALL PENCILS AND ALL PAPER! This means it is an ideal "try before you buy" opportunity. The first of these is a Basic Introduction, which can be tailored to your needs, but I prefer to work with beginners and show what is possible with coloured pencils using many different techniques and support materials. I also offer a Pet Portrait workshop, a Flowers workshop, and a CP and Mixed Media workshop - full details of each on request. My fee for each of these is £250 plus 20p per mile travel.
