My Music
I got my
first guitar when I was 11 - my son now has it. All my life I have sung
in choirs, at school, for my own enjoyment, and accompanied myself - I
was a "Guitar George", not an Eric! Then 15 years ago I had a breakdown
and stopped singing and playing. When I came to sing again, I could no
longer play guitar, my fingers were too fat and arthritic. Five years
ago I found this fabulous instrument that let me play a chord with just
one finger - and I started to sing again. I then discovered people like
Mike Fenton, and found that you could do a lot more than just play
chords on it, and I have now developed into a competent autoharper,
becoming able to express myself musically without singing, much more
than I ever could playing basically rhthym guitar.
This side of my life has expanded to fill the gap left by my art, and I
have several paid gigs under my belt. You can hear and see some of my
music by using the links on the left, and also find out a little more
about the autoharp. When you have had enough of that, use the pencil
link to browse through my artwork. If you have any comments, or would
like to book me, please feel free to contact me.
